I found the event that went on yesterday. It was the 2nd annual, so that's probably why I haven't heard of it, too new.
It's VisionWalk. I'm so doing this next year. I'm saving this link so I can keep up with it to see what's going on.

Walk Route
Beginning next to the Pavilion - look for the yellow and blue VisionWalk balloons. The route will start heading east around the walking path and will be clearly marked. You will finish back at the Pavilion where you can wind down after the walk and continue to socialize with fellow walkers.
Remember, this event will take place RAIN or SHINE.
Activities
This is a family-friendly event. We will have various activities for children of all ages, including face painting, tattoos and much more! Please bring your entire family to join in on the fun and excitement.
We will also have plenty of snacks and refreshments
Team Spirit
Create bright and colorful team T-shirts so your group can find you at the Lake Harriet Pavilion. There will be hundreds of walkers at the site so plan ahead by designating a meeting spot. You should also have a big Team Banner decorated with your Team's name on it so you can walk loud and proud letting everyone know everyone who your are!
VisionWalk is a completely FREE event! We do not require a pledge per mile or entrance fee. While participants are under no obligation to donate to FFB, we do suggest a minimum donation goal of $100 per walker.
There is no age requirement. When you navigate through the registration process you will have to check a box to electronically sign a waiver.
In addition, there is no required size to form a Team. Teams can be comprised of 2 members to 2,000. We welcome Teams of all shapes and sizes!
