So I'm bumming about missing the walk on Sunday. But am ok because I'm not ready to spill the news right now. SIL is getting married in Vegas in December. So I'm looking at the walk schedule and there's a walk the day after the wedding!
I just told Roger and he said he'd do it with me (not that that's a surprise but woohoo!). So I'll be setting up a page sometime. Just hope this won't take away from the wedding? I don't think it would. Nobody else has to walk with us, but it would be nice.
I know my mom will be happy but bummed because she won't be there. I know she wants to be by my side, she'll get her chance.

I found it
I found the event that went on yesterday. It was the 2nd annual, so that's probably why I haven't heard of it, too new.
It's VisionWalk. I'm so doing this next year. I'm saving this link so I can keep up with it to see what's going on.
http://www.fightblindness.org/site/PageServer?pagename=Minneapolis_Walk_Day_Details
Walk Route
Beginning next to the Pavilion - look for the yellow and blue VisionWalk balloons. The route will start heading east around the walking path and will be clearly marked. You will finish back at the Pavilion where you can wind down after the walk and continue to socialize with fellow walkers.
Remember, this event will take place RAIN or SHINE.
Activities
This is a family-friendly event. We will have various activities for children of all ages, including face painting, tattoos and much more! Please bring your entire family to join in on the fun and excitement.
We will also have plenty of snacks and refreshments
Team Spirit
Create bright and colorful team T-shirts so your group can find you at the Lake Harriet Pavilion. There will be hundreds of walkers at the site so plan ahead by designating a meeting spot. You should also have a big Team Banner decorated with your Team's name on it so you can walk loud and proud letting everyone know everyone who your are!
VisionWalk is a completely FREE event! We do not require a pledge per mile or entrance fee. While participants are under no obligation to donate to FFB, we do suggest a minimum donation goal of $100 per walker.
There is no age requirement. When you navigate through the registration process you will have to check a box to electronically sign a waiver.
In addition, there is no required size to form a Team. Teams can be comprised of 2 members to 2,000. We welcome Teams of all shapes and sizes!

An Idea
Roger and I were at the cabin this past weekend and so were my parents. On Sunday, after I woke up, my mom said she was watching the news and they said something about a walk that taking place that day. One of those Race to Cure walks. The walk was for kinda what's going on with me, that's freakin me out. It's not for my exact syndrome but for what the syndrome effects. There's a ton of syndromes that effects this same thing. Sorry for not stating what exactly this is. I'm not fully comfortable telling the world yet. I haven't told the ILs yet. I want to soon. It's hard because such good things have been going on with the family, I don't want to kill the moment. Like a couple weeks ago we were at a wedding. I'm not going to tell them this at a wedding.
Anywho. Now I feel this want to be a part of a fundraiser for this. You know, have people donate towards my name to help out, to participates in the walks/dinners whatever, or even if it's just the donating. That support would be nice. Plus it might make me feel better about what's going on and feel good for trying to help fund money for studies.
I have to see the specialist next week. So maybe I should just ask him about it. See what he thinks, if there's a local charity to be a part of or something. My specialist is at the UofM. But part of me is surprised that they didn't mention this walk thing to me last week when I was there. Oh well.
I'm going to tell Roger about this idea. We've never participated in anything like this before. I know a cousin of his has a charity thing, I think he had a brain tumor or something like that. He still is involved with it. So far there hasn't been any walks here. He's been flying to Chicago to participate and whoever wants can donate money. My in-laws just went to a benefit/charity (towards the studies, not him personally) dinner.
So that's my current thinking. I'm not 100% sure I would really want to do this, but I'd like to look into it and see what's all involved.

Stress
I've been meaning to write an entry on the letter C. It's so easy, it's so important to me. But I've been feeling so stressed and down lately that I don't feel the energy to writing a positive post that is so joyous. I'll do it someday.
I'm trying my hardest to get out of this funk. I knew this was going to happen, I did try my hardest to not let it happen, but it did.
I'm stressed about the letter C which is the cabin, my job, my health (I guess that's where I'd put it, more of a condition). I'm trying to look at the positives on everything. I seem to be doing good and then there is something that sets me back. I know there's nothing anyone can really say, heck, I don't really know what to say. I need this time to pass and it probably won't until about January.
Which on a sad note, makes me can't wait for the holidays to be over. With working holidays too, the money it costs on holidays, is really taking the fun out of the holidays. Holidays should really be about family. Somehow I feel so rushed, trying to be with everyone. I do want to be with everyone. Thanksgiving isn't that bad, but it's does put a damper when I have to work Thanksgiving morning, rush to the inlaws's house, then over to my family, then work the next morning. Christmas is just a lot of money, trying to figure out what everyone wants. I do enjoy getting gifts, but no I understand why the older generations don't usually exchange presents. It should be all about getting together. It is awesome to see the excitement from the kids though.
Ok I'm rambling and I feel there was nothing positive about this post. Sorry.

Letter B
Choose a word that is somehow special to you with each letter of the alphabet and write a bit about that word.
Letter B
B for brother. I have an older brother who is such a good friend to me. Growing up we fought very little, then we I started junior high things changed. He was the oldest in the school, freshman and I was the youngest, 7th grader. My brother looked after me. All his friends liked me, so I hung out with my brother and his friends when I wasn't doing anything with my friends. I knew them before junior high started. So it was pretty cool going into junior high and saying "hi" to quite a few freshmens.
We both ran track and the same events, hurdles. 9th grade runs with the high school team, even though in our school 9th grade was still junior high. It was a little nervous going to track practice at first when you're an hour late to practice and there's only two of you that are 9th graders on the track team. The other person was from a different junior high. It was awesome when finally being done with warm ups and going over to the hurdles to join up with practice with the rest of the small hurdle gang and totally fitting in because of my brother.
Now seeing my brother as a husband and father (also a step father), I'm very proud of him.
I love the fact that my husband and my brother get along great too. My husband made my brother the Best Man for our wedding.

Alphabet Game - Letter A
Choose a word that is somehow special to you with each letter of the alphabet and write a bit about that word.
Letter A
A for Aunt. I am an Auntie to 5 kids. Two of them are from my husband's side, 3 of them are from my side. Josh is my brother's step-son, he is 12. Norah is my brother/SIL's 3.5 year old daughter. Avery is my brother/SIL's 16 month old daughter. Simeon is my husband's sister M and BF's 8.5 year old son. Ryban is my husband's sister B and BIL 11 month old son.
I really enjoy them all and makes me want to have a child of my own, but it is nice to hand them back and go home, or just hand them back.

Josh (in green hat) and Simeon
