19 weeks

We find out next Thursday what the gender is. I am so excited to see the baby on the u/s and to know if it's a boy or girl.
I honestly didn't care if we found out the gender or not. But husband insists on finding out, so you can plan accordingly. Luckily it's not an argument over one wants to know and the other doesn't. Now knowing that we're going to know, I don't know how people wait 40 weeks to find out!

I keep doing gender quizzes but knowing that you can't believe them at all. Almost all of them say the same gender.

Shortly after we find out the gender, we need to register. I think my first shower is going to be in April. We at least need to figure out where we're going to register so that it can be on the invite.

Part of me wants to set up the room NOW and have all the supplies NOW. But I've got til the end of July. No need to rush NOW.

My mom said for my birthday present (May) she wants to pay for the crib. So whenever we decide on one, we either pay for it and have her pay us back or have her come with crib shopping.

Also, after we find out the gender we're going to go to sister-in-law's to look at what she has that she said we can have. Her last baby was a girl, so I'm not sure if some of it is pink/girly. We won't take girly stuff if we're having a boy. Then we'll register.

16 weeks

16 weeks 6 days actually.
I had an appointment on Thursday. I was all confident. My stomach is definately growing. There's no doubt in my mind. While hubby and I were waiting the the dr's room for the dr, I got a little nervous. I even said "I have no doubt but this little wait is making me a little nervous." It's just I have sat in that room and had a couple bad visits (2 previous pregnancies = miscarriages).

When he came in, did a little chit chat. He asked me if I got the message about taking 1-2 iron pills. I said "yes, I've only been taking 1". Cmon, 1 or 2 pills, pick a number! I don't want to take too many, duh! Well I brought my bottle of pills and showed it to him, them he told me to take 2. Ok good, a definate number.

Then he had me hop up on the, whatchamacallit, bed thing to do the doppler. Woohoo! And slight panick. Last time as soon as the doppler touched my skin we could hear the heartbeat. This time, he put it on my skin and nothing! He moved it around and then found the heartbeat. Whew! It was only a matter of seconds but I didn't like that. Hearing the heartbeat is music to the ears.

At 7 weeks = 150hb
At 12 weeks = strong heartbeat but didn't have time to measure
At 16 weeks = 152hb

Next appointment is at 20 weeks and there will be an ultrasound! I can't wait to see the baby and also find out the gender.

15 weeks

I've been feeling great. No morning sickness. Just tired. The doctor did tell me to take an iron pill with my prenatals. Hasn't really seemed to make a difference. I'm eager for my next appointment, which is next week. I want to at least hear the heartbeat again. Hopefully an ultrasound since I haven't had one since week 7.

My stomach keeps getting bigger, but part of me feels like I'm imagining being pregnant because I've wanted this for so long. Hearing that heartbeat made it so real.

Heriditary

As some of you know (if anyone reads this), I'm finally pregnant (again).
So far everything is going very smoothly, the doctor appointments I've gone too have been wonderful, because we either get to see or hear the baby. I really think this one is going to stick around!

After finally being assured it's going to be good this time, I pulled out my books again. One book I really like is Your Pregnancy week by week. I can't remember which week but one week it mentions this is the time when the ears and eyes are developing. I just hope that the baby doesn't have Usher like I do. The hubby has to be a carrier and it'd be a 1/4 chance. We both think the chance he's a carrier is very low. But can never rule it out. I'm the first my family to have it. Either nobody matched with another carrier or they beat the odds. Just happened that my mom and dad were both carrier and I was that luck 1 in 4. From my understanding, I think my baby will be a carrier no matter what. Not going to be the 1 in 4 that is totally clear of it.

All my life I never knew if my hearing would be passed onto my kids. I always figured, if it does, I know exactly what to do. It doesn't scare me.

Some people might think it's not a good idea to even dare pass this along but it's not a disease that's going to kill you. And how I have it, I might not even really get it to the degree some people do. Plus there's a good chance of it not being passed on. I do know I was born to be a Mother. I will do my best with whatever is thrown in my course.

How's your sight doing?

I get asked this every once in awhile. It is asked by people who do care about me. I don't feel offended that they ask. But after last time (we were at a wedding), I said to my husband, "do you think I'm really going to tell everyone if I feel like it's getting worse or that for fact it is?" I know they're just asking. But I guess I'm in such denial, I don't want to be "that girl who is losing her sight". Always seems that everyone is labeled by something that's wrong with them. When there's so many people involved. For instance there's this cousin Gregg, I hear "oh he's the one with the brain issues, has seizures". Ummm I know his as Gregg, the nice cousin of my husband, that participates in my visionwalks.

Anywho, I guess I just don't want to accept the fact that it could be getting worse. I'm just holding onto the thread of hope that, maybe this is all it's going to be, I can deal with that. I know no matter what happens I'll be ok, I have a great support system around me.

As I speak of sighted problems, it's not stopping me from going moonlight bowling tonight. Hopefully it's still ok. Now I just have to go double check on the shirt the hubby is wearing, when we go moonlight bowling I always have to remind him to put a light colored shirt on.

Sweet moments

There are some moments in life that it would be nice to hit the PAUSE button.

I'm so glad my brother and his family live here in Minnesota. I'm glad to be close to their kids. When they lived in CA, you just don't get that full affect. My family has a cabin, so during the summer we see lots of each other.

The 2 youngest, Norah (5) and Avery (3), it's so nice to be a part of their lives and watch them grow.

My two sweet moments from Labor Day weekend involve both of them, but separately.

1.) I took Avery for a 4 wheel ride. When we got to the field, she started singing at the top of her lungs "Take me out to the ballgame". She knows all the words, BUT she says one word differently. It's supposed to be "Root, root, root for the HOME team". She say's (this is all her uncle's doing, which is SIL's brother), "root, root, root for the Dodgers". After that song was over, she started blaring out The Little Mermaid "Part of your World" song.

2.) When we were all saying bye on Monday to go home, Norah gave me a hug at the legs. I told her I was super excited for her to start Kindergarten the next day. She is SUPER excited. I picked her up to hug her. She hugged me tight and then rested her head on my shoulder. I didn't want to let go!

Wristbands

My brother came up with a good point. I think I'm going to get bracelets that have different fun words/phrases. It won't have anything to do with Ushers or the walk but the money will go towards the walk. I'd maybe be more likely to get more people to buy one then.

I want to ask my aunt, who own a salon, if I can sell some there. Have a fishbowl on the counter and on the bowl it explains that when you purchase a bracelet, the money will go towards Ushers and the walk. It'll be better explained that what I just wrote. But you get my point. I don't see why my aunt would say no. I have another cousin who makes jewelry and has it displayed on the counter for sale. So she somehow knows how to separate the cash, knows how much my cousin made.

Roger's cousin has a graduation party next weekend, I just told him I should finally buy them so I can bring some to the party.

I just need help with some sayings.

I was thinking this so far

~Booyah
~That's what she said
~Hollar!
~That how I roll

Any ideas? I was thinking of selling the bands for $2. What do you think?
