Hmmm

I don't know, the whole "I support" "I DO NOT support" stuff on Facebook is kinda, I don't know.

I know different people have different views on things. There's one thing in particular that "I support" because I know a family member that falls in the category. I want him to know that I do support him. I just notice today that a different family member that's a little more distance but not too distance just became part of the "I DO NOT support". That's fine that she doesn't but I just kinda feel like it's rude to say that when a family member falls in that category and is a FB friend of hers, so he can see that.

I'm not sure if that made sense or if anyone even reads this blog, but I just had to get that out.

Happy Valentine's

This Valentine's Day was pretty low key. We didn't do gifts. I mentioned Saturday night that I still hadn't gotten Roger a card, he shook his head like "no need to". I had to work Valentine's Day til noon. I had to go to Target afterwards to get Kitty Litter. That's the only place I can find the litter I like. I thought about getting a card but figured he didn't get me one, I don't need to. I kept thinking about the nieces and nephews. I've always have sent them a card. This is the first year I haven't in forever. I'm sure they don't really care but you know, I care. It's something that I'd like them to remember when they're older. Weird I'm sure.
There's 6 kids now, that's a lot! I'll make sure to do it next year. Don't know why that slipped my mind.

We didn't bowl yesterday but we still went up to bowling. I had the winning numbers for the 3rd quarter of the superbowl game, so I needed to go up there to collect my $200.

Today I guess MIL had nephew Simeon, so we went over there. Then we decided to go bowling. My dad had gone out fishing on our lake. I went to my parents' to get nephew Josh to go bowling. When we were done, my dad was going home to pick up my brother and SIL from airport, so Josh rode home with him. My parents are 40 minutes away, so that worked out good.

Tomorrow I think I'm going to head over to the hearing aid place. I don't think the left one is working right. It's just a pain, it's an hour away. But they are great. Walk in, they take the hearing aid in the back, in the shop, and sometimes when they come out it's fixed, or I have to wait a few minutes. Just the drive stinks.

Super Bowl

We went over to my parents for the game today. My brother and his family came over too. We decided we should make a day of it. We started off by going up to the park and skating. We brought our sticks and some pucks. It was nice, there was only one other kid there and he actually played with us. He was a good kid. Roger doesn't know how to skate but he was still able to hit the puck around/be goalie. Niece Norah (5) had her skates on for awhile. She's only be on skates a few times. She was doing pretty good but it was bumming. She kept saying "I'm not as good as everyone else." We were trying to tell her that we all start that way and you just practice, won't be long before she's skating like us. I kept saying that she was doing great, she's better than Roger who can't skate, better than Avery who also can't skate (Avery is her sister that's 2.5). It was a fun time though.

We got back and played another game. Then the football game was on. I could really care less. I also didn't think the commercials were that great and halftime boring. Oh well. I think I'll win some money for having the right numbers at the end of the 3rd quarter. During the game I was kinda helping Norah out with some crafts. She wanted some things cut out. I cut out a butterfly, dragonfly, ladybug, dots for the lady bug, glow worm. I just remembered i forget to do the flower I told her I'd do. Oh well.

Well I need to head to bed.

Fishing adventure

OMG tonight was way too funny in a serious way.

So we're fishing again. This time it's us two, my dad, my brother, his two girls and stepson. After my brother and the kids left, my dad, Roger and I started a game of cribbage. There were 4 people playing while my brother was there. Then all of a sudden my dad and Roger both had a fish, they realize quickly that they're hooked to each other. So one of them caught a fish and it swam into the other hook, then my line goes down. Three of us hooked. Roger line ends up breaking.  My dad's line gets tangled at the reel. So he ends up cutting his line and starts pulling it up by hand. I keep letting slack out of mine so he can pull it up. Well Roger was taking care of my pole. I was shining a flashlight down my dad's hole. It's about 11pm so it's dark down the hole. At one point I was sure I saw something weird, I thought it might be a northern coming up sideways. Thinking it was on Roger's hook correctly and snagged my dad's hook on it's side. Then I don't see it. Then a little bit later it look right at the bottom of the hole, it look really weird. My dad (I guess I have to admit me too) thought "holy s**t it's a turtle". Ok you don't see turtles during the winter. Then it disappears. My dad can't pull anymore because Roger's line is going to run out. So they decide Roger should reel instead. He reels a little bit then he can't reel anymore, stuck.

There's huge disagreement between the two of them of what's going on. My dad so believes it's a turtle. Roger says it was the shadow of us leaning over the hole. I believe what I saw was a log. Roger's thinks we're stuck on a log but didn't see it. This last for awhile, I'm laughing so hard (I know it doesn't sound all the funny now).

The line is still in the hole. Tomorrow, most likely Roger and I will be making a run to my parents house to get my dad's underwater camera that my dad drove 2 hours yesterday to get from the cabin only to leave it at home. We want to see what's under there. The bobber and the hook are no longer on the line, we retrieved it from my dad's hole, so it's not snagged. Well I'm not sure about the hook, we have the bobber so that means no hook. So it must've been on the fish or caught on a line and the fish swam under and around a log or something to tangle it up.

Whew, that probably made no sense at all, but I just had to share.

Registration

I finally got a hold of the registration to be on the waiting list if there's a clinical trial for my eye condition. I honestly don't know why it took me so long to get it. I just need to print it off and mail it in asap. Then I'll feel good that I'm in the database. Then just hope someday!

I'm going to email them a question I have. I think I should get a genetic screening, although it doesn't really do anything right now. I think eventually I'll have to have it down. The only thing is it's spendy and insurance doesn't cover any of it. I can't remember how much it is. Also the closest place to go is University of Iowa. I don't know if I wait until I do need it, if technology will get better, cost will be better or I don't know. I was thinking when I go to raise money for the VisionWalk, I could ask people to donate it to help me get a genetic testing done. Maybe a small amount of the money would go towards VisionWalk. I was just thinking, I raised close to $2K for the last walk, that money could pay for my testing. I know it was at least that much, maybe even more.
